Incident at the Stade de France: the destruction of CCTV images is "voluntary", judge Marine Le Pen

The ex-presidential candidate evoked a “destruction of evidence by inaction”, on the part of the government, after the incidents

"It's a state scandal."

Marine Le Pen estimated on Friday that the destruction of video surveillance images of the violence at the Stade de France was "voluntary", accusing the government in particular of having wanted to "cover up" "enormous lies".

These images, which are systematically destroyed after seven days, unless requisitioned by justice, as provided for by law, have not been kept, we learned during hearings by the Senate on Thursday.

"It's called covering your tracks," said Marine Le Pen, RN candidate for the legislative elections in Pas-de-Calais, on BFMTV and RMC.

“I dare not imagine that our leaders are so incompetent that they did not immediately, given the echo that this Stade France affair had, (…) asked that the surveillance videos be sent to them.

So it's voluntary" and "it's a destruction of evidence by inaction," she added.

Incidentally, the former presidential candidate attacked Interior Ministers Gérald Darmanin and Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti.

"The fact that there is no CCTV covers up their huge lies that came to light yesterday in the hearing," she said, referring in particular to "the fable of 40,000 people who had counterfeit notes.

“I understand that this calls out”

Asked this Friday about the reason which led to this removal of the CCTV images, Gabriel Attal, now Minister in charge of Public Accounts, specified that "the Ministry of Justice was in the process of establishing the facts and would communicate soon" on the question.

“I understand that this challenges, but it is obviously justice that did not claim these images”, he argued on Franceinfo.

Chaos at the Stade de France: the prefect of police recognizes "a failure" before the Senate

Incidentally, the minister assures that he does not "believe at all" in the departure of the prefect of police Didier Lallement who explained himself to the senators on Thursday on the incidents on the sidelines of the Champions League final.

“It is always healthy to recognize that there have been failures and to learn lessons so that it does not happen again”, judged Gabriel Attal.
