The Hauts-de-Seine department becomes an official partner of the Tour de France, for three years. It's a homecoming for the 92.

The followers of the Tour de France have not forgotten the traditional food that punctuated each stage, a few years ago, at kilometer 92. With the new partnership unveiled this Friday between the organizers of the big loop and the department of Hauts-de -Seine, this old tradition that disappeared a good twenty years ago will reappear, in a more sober way.

From this Tour 2022 (from July 1 to 24), an arch will be placed at kilometer 92 of each stage, and a contest will be launched on social networks, to bet on the first rider to cross this kilometer point.

The winner drawn will be invited to a stage.

This is one of the points of this new partnership signed for three years between the department of 92 and the Tour de France.

The main one concerns the team classification of the Tour de France.

The Hauts-de-Seine become the official partner of this ranking which rewards the best team overall, whose runners wear a yellow bib (with the logo of the department).

Each week, the "best team member" of the peloton will be chosen, also by Internet users during rest days, from a panel of runners selected by a jury of experts.

The boss of the Tour Christian Prudhomme returned to the long history that links the cities of Hauts-de-Seine to the event, in particular the arrival of the first Tour in Ville-d'Avray in 1903 or the big departure from Boulogne-Billancourt in 1986, and therefore this famous kilometer 92. This arrival of the Hauts-de-Seine in the family of the partners of the Tour is therefore a form of homecoming.

Paris La Défense Arena open to the public for the last stage

“There are a lot of private companies and communities that want to join the Tour, places are expensive,” acknowledged Georges Siffredi, president (LR) of the Hauts-de-Seine departmental council, who welcomes this agreement. over three years, which will give visibility to its department with this major popular sporting event watched by 42 million French people on television.

This link between 92 and the Tour was forged after the choice of Paris La Défense Arena as the starting point for the last stage towards the Champs-Élysées, on July 24.

The leaders of the Tour de France said a little more about this event which will be open to all, free of charge.

All you have to do is register in advance to enter the Nanterre hall and see the runners and publicity caravan parade there, until the start of the final stage at 4 p.m.

Entertainment will also be planned for the public at Paris La Défense Arena and its huge giant screen.

Spectators can then reach Paris and the Champs by metro or RER to follow the finish of the stage.
