NBA Finals: Stephen Curry leads the Golden State Warriors to victory over the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics' lead in the seven finals of the NBA is gone: The Golden State Warriors won the game on Friday evening - also because of Stephen Curry's performance.

Stephen Curry, who is considered one of the best basketball players in the world, proved his class again on Friday evening: In the Golden State Warriors game against the Boston Celtics, Curry was responsible for 43 points and thus made a significant contribution to his team's away win - the Warriors decided won the game in the TD Garden in Boston 107:97.

The players from San Francisco were able to avert an early lead for the Boston Celtics in the final series, which will be decided according to the Best of Seven format.

After the fourth encounter between the two teams, the score is 2:2.

The fifth of the seven games is scheduled for Tuesday, then again in San Francisco.

The remaining games will take place alternately in the two final cities.

Good start, not so good ending for the Celtics

Although the Celtics started the game better than the guests, the Warriors had already taken the lead before the end of the first quarter.

Curry was in the game immediately and booked the first 12 points for the Warriors - and again went out as the best pitcher with 43 points.

As in the previous three duels, the 34-year-old recorded at least five successful throws from a distance with his seven three-pointers.

There has never been a performance like this in an NBA Finals series.

As with the home win two days earlier, the Celtics convinced as a team and defended the Warriors very disciplined.

But weak attempts from three in the final quarter cost the lead – and the win.

Jason Tatum was the most successful Celtics pro on the field with 23 points.

The German player Daniel Theis, who is under contract with the Celtics, was not used again, in contrast to the first two matches of the final series.

Celtics coach Ime Udoka only sent eight different athletes onto the floor.

While the Celtics have been waiting for a new championship title - their 18th - since 2008, the Warriors are hoping for their seventh title in their history and their first since 2018.
