Watch the incident
According to the shocking documentation circulated on social media and already garnered over 8 million views, the New York fan, who was apparently nervous about the loss to Tampa Bay, punched the face of a Tampa Bay fan who on the face did not appear to have done anything out of the ordinary.
The Tampa Bay fan was not ready for that punch and lay down motionless, with his friends who were at the scene trying to help him and the attacker meanwhile escaped.
This fan has been banned for life from the New York Rangers, but he will also not be able to enter Madison Square Garden - no matter what industry and team he supports.
It was later revealed that this fan had attacked another fan when his two victims were evacuated to the hospital and their condition is stable.
