At TSV 1860 Munich there is a dispute about fashion.
Ismaiks Merchandising GmbH is now selling the slogan "We are the club" - together with the design invented by fans.

Who is allowed to use this slogan?
The fact that Merchandising GmbH is now doing it at TSV 1860 Munich annoys many fans.
The reason: In the fan shop owned by Hasan Ismaik, there is now a collection that looks confusingly similar to the older fan series.
Benedikt Niedergünzl created the slogan and the design about a year ago.
Since then, the main club has been selling a plain white T-shirt with a blue lion on the chest.
"We are the club - 1860 Munich" is written in the circle around it.
The only visible difference between the shirts from the club and those from the fan shop: the lion.
Merchandising GmbH uses an allegedly older version of the Giesinger heraldic animal.

Niedergünzl designed the shirt together with the club a year ago, "to have a clear distinguishing feature from the items sold by Ismaiks Merchandising GmbH," explains Niedergünzl in an interview with "

The proceeds from the sale benefit the non-profit organization as a whole.
The junior academy is also supported as an interface.
“They simply adopted our claim,” complains Niedergünzl and taunts: “Which is not without a certain irony, because in my opinion they should have written: 'We are the Merchandising GmbH'.
In fact, it has nothing to do with the club.”

The “We are the club” line was an absolute success last year.
Of course, the lion fans can only guess why the Ismaik side took over the design.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time there has been a dispute about “inspiration”.
"In my view, Merchandising GmbH used to shamelessly use various scene shirts or stickers in the past," complains Niedergünzl.

And the Zoff about the slogan "We are the club" is not new in the club.
The fan shop had announced the line and thus provoked open protest from numerous 1860 fans.
At the last game of the season against Borussia Dortmund II, the fans held up an unmistakable poster: "First sue the lions for trademark rights - now copy the eV design - Anthony, you air pump, shame on you!".
The fan shop didn't let that deter them.
In the meantime, there is not only the almost identical T-shirt available, but also a matching hoodie.
Legally, the designer and the main club could apparently take action against Merchandising GmbH.
Niedergünzl and his colleagues are "tired" of such arguments, he admits.
