Women's Euro: Les Bleues land in Clairefontaine

After the Blues, the Blues.

Residence of the players of Didier Deschamps on the occasion of the League of Nations, the national center of Clairefontaine welcomes from this Tuesday morning, 10 am, Corinne Deacon and the 23 players selected to prepare for the Euro in England (6 to 31 July).

This meeting marks the real kick-off of the physical and sports preparation of the French women who however met last week, from Thursday evening to Sunday, near Anglet (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).

On the program: medical protocol, regeneration and cohesion activities.

“The idea was to regenerate organisms tired by a long season but also to experience privileged moments, to strengthen the spirit of cohesion and group before returning to the hard work, explains Corinne Deacon on the Federation website. French (FFF).

For this, we have mixed activities with, for example, an introduction to rugby with the coach of the French women's team, Thomas Darrack, a Pilates session, jogging or even a short hike in the Basque Country.

We obviously remained on a sporting approach to our activities but with things different from what we usually do.

"The lights are green"

The coach believes that "the lights are green" before starting a month and a half of living together.

"The group is already united, but these kinds of moments allow us to get to know each other differently," she says.

At Clairefontaine, Wendie Renard, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and their partners will find a more classic program punctuated by training sessions.

A day off is scheduled for Sunday.

Les Bleues will play two friendly matches against Cameroon, in Beauvais, Saturday June 25 (9:10 p.m.) then Vietnam in Orléans, Friday July 1 (9:10 p.m.).

“The first match will come in the continuity of our preparation, explained Deacon on the sidelines of the announcement of the list of 23 players.

For the second, we will be a little closer to the team composition which should start the first game.

Les Bleues will join their base camp in England on July 5 before facing Italy (July 10), Belgium (July 14) and Iceland (July 18).

• Friday July 1 (9:10 p.m., W9): France-Vietnam (friendly match in Orléans)
