The Spanish women's national team around world footballer Alexia Putellas will now receive the same pay as the men.
This was announced by the Spanish association RFEF on Tuesday.
"We have signed an agreement for the next five years," said association president Luis Rubiales.
National players should therefore enjoy the same conditions in Spain in terms of bonus payments and TV bonuses.
Working conditions, including rules for travel, board and lodging, will also be adjusted.
The same payment is also made in the USA
Amanda Gutierrez called this decision a "historic day".
The president of the FUTPRO union represented Spain's players in the negotiations.
Only recently did the US association announce that women soccer players in the United States should now receive the same amount of money as the much less successful men.
Brazil, England, Norway and Denmark have also reached agreements on equal pay for national players.
In Germany, this debate has been going on for years - but so far without agreement.
In the event of a victory at the upcoming European Championships in England, the women would get a record bonus of 60,000 euros per player.
However, women are far behind men in this regard.
Every 2014 world champion collected a whopping 300,000 euros back then.
Germany lags behind
However, the association will deal with the topic of equal pay, the same bonuses for men and women, announced DFB managing director Oliver Bierhoff and pointed out that in the round of negotiations for the EM bonuses there was an “expectation” to that effect, but “even hadn't been there.
Instead, improvements were made in another area.
"We already started that they have the same support staff, the same equipment," said Bierhoff.
"We do everything we can to ensure that they have the same conditions, but we also believe that by increasing the premiums we have shown that we want to promote women's football."
