Paralympic swimmer Ami Dadaun made history yesterday (Tuesday) when he won his gold medal for the first time at the World Championships in Portugal, in the 150m medley, after setting a time of 2: 37.12 minutes
"I aspired to a faster result," the new champion said at the end.
"But in the end I managed to win anyway. I brought the first gold medal to Israel, I am glad I was able to bring it and hope to continue to represent Israel with dignity in the next anointings as well."
"I still have the 50 and 200 meters free in the championship, when they allocate my strengths. There will be tough competition and I look forward to swimming them as much as I can."
100m breaststroke bronze medalist Mark Mellier said: "It's an ointment I did not swim in Tokyo and I wanted to swim it, but it was close to me for more ointments. It was tight and I really enjoyed it, and the result is the medal."
