David Blatt returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv: The man who coached the team and marched it to its sixth and final Euroleague victory, eight years ago, was appointed tonight (Wednesday) as chairman of the club's professional committee and will serve as an external professional advisor.

As part of his role, the 63-year-old Blatt is expected to give his experience to both the team's management in its various decisions, and to the professional team.

The professional committee of Maccabi Tel Aviv consists of the team's coach, it will probably be staffed by Oded Katash, the club's sports director Nikola Vujicic and the main scout Avi Even, while Blatt will chair the committee and give his opinion.

In fact, Blatt currently also serves on the Canada national team, having previously played a similar role for the New York Knicks.
