Tonight (Wednesday), David Blatt was appointed chairman of the professional committee of Maccabi Tel Aviv as well as an external consultant to the owners and management, all with the aim of returning the club to the track of success after a few bad years.
The professional committee will consist of Blat, sports director Nikola Vujicic, head of the scouting department Avi Even and the team coach.
"I am very happy to return and proud to be part of the system that is so important to me and I have gone through beautiful and great things with it over the years," Blatt says in an interview with Israel Today.
What are your job definitions, what will be your responsibilities?
"I will lead the professional committee and also be a professional advisor and tools to the owners, management and coach in whatever they need. I will do everything I can to give from my knowledge and experience to help the system."
Since you left Maccabi is in decline, what are the main things you want to do to bring Maccabi back to the good years?
"I have just now taken up the position. I do not want to talk too much about what we are planning, but I can say that we need to look at what has happened since I left in a more correct perspective. Good things have been done at Maccabi and less bad things. It is difficult and competitive. "

"It is definitely possible to give back. If we commit to excellence and each of us gives the maximum, good things will happen. We will build a good, quality team with people who are willing to commit to this goal."
