The body has ensured that these complaints, "as well as the statements that the association of Spanish clubs has been making in recent times in this regard, are made based on data and after a detailed monitoring and analysis of the audited accounts of the clubs."

His conclusion is clear: "LaLiga considers that these practices alter the ecosystem and the sustainability of football, harm all European clubs and leagues, and only serve to artificially inflate the market, with money not generated in football itself", supports the LaLiga statement.

For the organization chaired by Javier Tebas, these clubs break the rules of the game because their economy does not depend on the sporting achievements of the team.

"The irregular financing of these clubs is carried out, either through direct injections of money or through sponsorship contracts and other types that do not correspond to market conditions or make economic sense," LaLiga said in the press release. the.

This is not the first time that LaLiga has denounced these practices of the so-called 'state clubs' before UEFA.

The Spanish organization defends that "it has always led the defense of economic control" and for this reason, in 2017 and 2018, it filed briefs with UEFA against PSG and Manchester City for infringing financial 'fair play', which resulted in sanctions for part of UEFA against both clubs, which were expelled from European competitions for two years.

But both resorted to the CAS and finally the sanctions were annulled in what LaLiga considers a "strange decision".

LaLiga has stood out in recent years, especially since the outbreak of the pandemic, for trying to tighten the belt on all clubs and control spending that had gotten out of control in recent times.

Proof of this are the strong measures that have been applied to Barcelona to force it to lower its wage bill, which prevent the Blaugrana club from aspiring to big signings until they solve their economic problem.

But both in France and in England, they have been very permissive with the spending of both PSG and Manchester City since both clubs always keep their accounts in the green by having financing from Qatar (PSG) and the United Arab Emirates (Manchester City), which allows them to continue signing despite having a clearly negative balance in the transfer market, with more than 1,000 million difference between sales and purchases of players in the last ten years.

Faced with this situation, Tebas has said enough and now everything remains in the hands of justice, which will have to decide if the practices of PSG and Manchester City comply with the law or if they have broken the rules of the game as LaLiga maintains.
