He will face the Australian Tai Tuisava, world number 3 in the category, in a star fight at the UFC Paris meeting which will take place on September 3 at the AccorHotels Arena (ex-Bercy).
This will be the first time that the UFC will organize a show in France.
Last month, Bellator, the second largest MMA organization in the United States behind the UFC, staged an event in the 12th arrondissement of Paris which brought together just over 10,000 people.
Cyril Gane fans will turn out in droves to support the tricolor fighter.
The 32-year-old native of La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée) will want to move forward against Tuisava after his first setback last January which thus ended a series of 23 consecutive victories.
