Falling down to 126th in the world, Charl Schwartzel, winner of the 2011 Masters, has been a financially fulfilled man since last Sunday.
The South African, winner of the first tournament of the dissident LIV Golf league, left London with a check for 4.75 million dollars (3.82 million euros).
By way of comparison, when he won in Augusta, eleven years ago, he had received “only” 1.44 million dollars.
Schwartzel is among 48 "secessionists" who have joined the new League, funded by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and led by the legendary Greg Norman through the company LIV Golf Investments.
With $25 million in prize money for each of the eight tournaments scheduled this year (before increasing to 15 events in 2023),
