Ligue 2: Bordeaux replaced by XXX in the Ligue 2 calendar

The foundations for next season are laid.

This Friday, the Professional Football League (LFP) unveiled the calendars for Ligue 1, but also for Ligue 2. In just over a month, the 20 teams in the elite antechamber will set off for new adventures on the weekend of July 30.

A long marathon awaits this beautiful world for an outcome on June 2, 2023. In the meantime, as for Ligue 1, the L2 will observe a break due to the World Cup in Qatar between November 12 and December 27.

During the 1st day, Saint-Étienne, beaten during the play-off for the maintenance by Auxerre, will move to Dijon.

Paris FC, fourth in the last championship, will find Sochaux, who had eliminated them in the first round of the play-offs.

And the other highlight of this first day is the trip from Valenciennes to the enigmatic XXX.

To comply with the current procedure, the LFP has opted for the mention XXX instead of Bordeaux.

The same is true for each of the 38 days.

Freshly relegated to National 1 on Tuesday evening by the DNCG, the financial policeman of the League, the Girondins de Bordeaux have since appealed.

They still hope to save their head in Ligue 2 and maybe even more since the survival of the club is also threatened.

If the descent from Bordeaux is confirmed, all scenarios are possible.

According to the regulations, Villefranche Beaujolais, beaten in the play-off by Quevilly-Rouen, is the first on the list.

But the LFP can also decide to let Ligue 2 start again at 19, thus anticipating the upcoming reform which will take it from 20 to 18 clubs.
