The Warriors were crowned NBA champions for the 7th time in their history, the fourth time in six Finals in the last eight seasons, after

And in the end the winner is called Golden State… Since 2015, the Californian club of San Francisco has left mere crumbs for its rivals.

This Thursday, in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, the Warriors signed the fourth and decisive victory (90-103) synonymous with the supreme title.

One victory away from the coronation, the teammates of Stephen Curry, named best player in the final, did not want to wait for the last game supposed to take place this Sunday at the Chase Center.

They defeated the Celtics a second time at home, who had to give up an 18th NBA title, which would have made them the best franchise since the start of the NBA in 1950.

In this match 6, Boston had however started well in front of its public of the TD Garden.

But the Warriors were able to turn the tide as in this series which had started badly with a defeat at home in the first game.

Led two wins to one, Golden State managed to chain three wins in a row including two in Boston to finally snatch a 7th crown in club history.

This new success places the Californians a little more in the legend of the NBA with a third place behind the two monsters Los Angeles Lakers and… Boston Celtics with 17 crowns each.

With this 7th victory, the Warriors have proven a certain form of invincibility which allows them to overtake the Chicago Bulls (6 league titles), in third place among the most successful clubs.

If this 2022 coronation was not necessarily expected, it in any case confirms the supremacy since 2015 of the franchise led by coach Steve Kerr, who took the opportunity to win his 9th national title.

Thus, in the last eight editions, Golden State has won 4 titles with this year's title for six finals played in all.

But this 2022 title has a much more particular flavor than the previous ones in 2015, 2017 and 2018. It allows the team of general manager, Bob Myers, to come back from hell with a 30th and last place in 2020. from the hole, the flashback was possible with the arrival of players like Jordan Poole, from the G-League or the Canadian, winger Andrew Wiggins, who was languishing in Minneapolis.
