Tennis star Coco Gauff is breaking new ground when looking for a suitable partner for the mixed tournament in Wimbledon.
Unlike usual, she is not looking in her personal tennis environment or asking her management.
Instead, she simply tweeted, "Who wants to play mixed at Wimbledon?"
Gauff said to »Bild«: »I didn't want to receive any rejection if I asked someone directly.
So I thought I'd do it on Twitter." Gauff doesn't usually compete in mixed.
Because there are no world ranking points in Wimbledon due to the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes, Gauff does not start in doubles in favor of the mixed.
Gauff has not yet found a partner.
But she had seven to ten serious offers.
At the French Open she last reached the final in singles, but then had no chance against Iga Świątek.
