Kirchheim – Second newcomer to the Kirchheimer SC soccer division: Marinus Bachleitner comes from SB DJK Rosenheim.

"It's a stroke of luck for us," says KSC player-coach Steven Toy.

Only bottom of the table TSV Kastl (82 goals) conceded more goals than Kirchheimer SC (74) last season.

And so it's no secret that they've been on the lookout for another central defender at KSC for quite some time.

It is quite possible that he has now flown to the club in the form of Marinus Bachleitner.

The 20-year-old is in his fourth semester studying geography and business administration in Munich, but only recently moved to Zamdorf because the lectures suddenly went live after the compulsory Corona break and at some point he got tired of the commute.

"I originally intended to continue playing for Rosenheim, but all the driving meant a lot of work, and fortunately I don't have that anymore." So it's all at the beginning: the first flat share, the new sporting home.

When searching, he concentrated on the Munich area and the state league.

The rapprochement with those responsible for KSC went entirely to his liking.

"I had a good feeling right away, it was honest, open talks." KSC player coach Steven Toy describes the signing as "a stroke of luck for us".

During the first phone call and then the personal meeting that followed, it quickly became clear “that he was a great fit for the squad as a person.”

Together with his co-player coaches Ricardo Jacobi and Korbinian Vollmann, Toy then watched two more Bachleitner games online: "We then gave him feedback that we would be happy if he joined Kirchheimer SC."

The 1.90 meter man - he played for FC Bayern and 1860 Rosenheim in his youth before joining the Sportbund in 2019 - has not yet trained with his new teammates, he should take part individually in the tracking that is currently running because he still had to play the relegation relegation.

The SB DJK Rosenheim failed at the SB Chiemgau Traunstein and had to go down to the district league.

“Very bitter!” says Marinus Bachleitner.

He left the club "on good terms" and found "many friends" there.

With a mixture of excitement and anticipation, he is now approaching the new task: "The team showed what it's capable of with their fourth place in the second half of the season, so I don't think it will be that close again." As twelfth the KSC had saved itself at the last minute, by the way, he would have lost the direct comparison against Rosenheim (0:2 and 3:3).

Bachleitner would prefer to continue playing in central midfield: "But first of all, the team is excellent, especially with Korbinian Vollmann, secondly, I can also play central defender." Steven Toy will certainly favor the latter, but emphasizes: "We'll see during the preparation , in which position - centre-back, midfielder or eighth - Marinus can best help us."
