The second day of the 2022 World Swimming Championships culminated with four finals tonight (Monday) in a pool in Budapest.

Our eyes were on the women's 200m individual medley final, where Anastasia Gurbanko dreamed of rising to the podium, but finished in fifth place - the highest of an Israeli swimmer.



The 18-year-old swimmer had already won a gold medal at the 2020 European Championships and was hoping for another podium, but stopped the clock at 2: 11.02 minutes, far from her personal and national record of 2: 09.99 minutes.

Gorbanko started poorly, improved positions in the chest, but was far from the leaders and could not catch up.



The best result of an Israeli swimmer in world championships so far was sixth place and was achieved by Vered Borochovsky (2003), Miki Malul (2007), Gal Nevo (2009) and Guy Barnea (2011).
