As announced by L'Équipe on Saturday evening, Leandro Paredes' contract with PSG now runs until June 2024. The Argentine midfielder had an option in his contract for an automatic one-season extension.
He had joined the French capital in January 2019 for a lease of four and a half years, that is until June 2023. But the option was therefore triggered.
Does this change the future of the Argentinian international (44 caps)?
With two more years of contract, his value on the transfer market is necessarily higher.
PSG won't retain the 27-year-old if the offer is satisfactory.
According to specialist website Transfermarkt, Paredes is currently worth around €17m.
A far cry from the €47 million spent by PSG in January 2019 to attract him from Zénith Saint-Petersburg.
This season, Leandro Paredes has only played 22 games in all competitions, hampered by several muscle injuries.
He ended his exercise with pubalgia before being operated on and away from the field for more than two months.
Today on vacation with his compatriots Angel Di Maria and Giovani Lo Celso, Paredes will return to training on July 4 with Paris.
