One of the main factors that delayed the announcement of the appointment of Oded Katash as the coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv concerned the issue of the assistant coach.
One of the candidates for the position, who has already received an initial application, is the American Ryan Fanon.
Fanon (37) knows Katsch well, and served as his assistant at Hapoel Jerusalem in the 2018/19 season.
He currently coaches the New Orleans Pelicans' G-League team, and has so far made no decision on whether to give up his job and accept an offer to return to Europe.
If he answers in the affirmative, he will enter into negotiations with the Yellows.
The American, who for many years worked as a scout, first came to Jerusalem in the summer of 2016, and was Simona Pianigani's assistant in the season when the Reds reached the EuroCup semi-finals and won the national championship.
In between he coached the Slovak Privyzza.

The coach is interested in joining Jonathan Alon, who also worked under him in the capital, while the good friend of the professional manager Nikola Vujicic, the Croatian Igor Milicic, is considered a candidate on behalf of the management.
