The Erding Gladiators continue to work diligently on the squad for the coming season.

Erding – The Bavarian league ice hockey club reports some important contract extensions, including captain Philipp Michl, who remains on board, but also a well-known departure.

The defense is now almost complete with three goalkeepers and seven defenders (we reported).

There are already seven positions in the storm, so there are still a few positions open here.

In addition to the newcomers Leon Abstreiter, Marinus von Friderici and Elias Maier (we reported), two very young players, Wassilij Guft-Sokolov and Erik Modlmayr, have confirmed their commitment for another year.

The veteran Sebastian Busch still has a contract for the coming season anyway, and Florian Zimmermann, who is employed at TSV Erding as a full-time junior coach, will continue to hunt for goals for the Gladiators “on the side” – in what is now his eleventh season.

"Now perhaps the most important contract extension for the next two years is in the bag," said Gladiators spokesman David Whitney.

The 33-year-old team captain Philipp Michl has signed for two more years with the Erdingers in the offices of premium sponsor Seeßle Fussgesund.

Michael Trox, on the other hand, is no longer in the squad.

The 36-year-old thoroughbred striker, who returned to his home club last season after seven years at EHC Waldkraiburg and scored 26 points in 25 games, is leaving the Gladiators with an unknown goal.

It is quite possible that he will end his career.

Trox had left Erding in 2005, then switched to ESC Dorfen and then stormed for the state league team ESV Gibensbach for five years.

After two years in Dorfen and Erding, he finally moved to Waldkraiburg.
