In the closet of every football club in the world, the historic trophies he has won are on display.

Of course, it is requested that a club like Hapoel Tel Aviv be shown one of the most important titles in its history - the Asian Cup.

So how did it happen that such an important exhibit is now being offered by a private auctioneer?

Hapoel Tel Aviv won the Asian Team Championship in 1967, after defeating Malaysian champions Slangi 1: 2 in Bangkok.

A few months after winning, the huge and beautiful trophy disappeared from the closet.

It was recently discovered when the Israeli auction site bidspirit began to display it at auction.

The initial price, $ 1,000, seems ridiculous, but it should be noted that this is the starting price of most of the exhibits on the site and is likely to say at least thousands of dollars.

As mentioned, the current Hapoel Tel Aviv has nothing to do with this cup, which has not been in the Khodorov complex for the past decades.

Only yesterday did the Red Club find out about the story, and lit a red light for them.

"We have started a legal process to look into the matter," says a source at the club. "This is a trophy that must be in our trophy cabinet. We will wait and see."

The story of the trophy begins with the 1966/67 championship.

In December of that year, under coach Yosef Mirmovich, the team was invited to a lone game in Bangkok, after the retirement of many clubs in Asia and under the influence of the head of the Asian association Tonko Abdul Rahman, who was a great friend of Israel, to a lone game against Malaysian champions.

The Malaysians led 0: 1 in the opening, but the late Danny Borsok equalized and the winning goal for Hapoel Tel Aviv was scored by the brakeman Yaakov (Kiko) Rachminovich with a penalty in the 88th minute.

Rachminovich, who will be 78 years old in two weeks, recalls: First in the title of an Israeli team at the Asian Championships.

Our captain Shimon (Shim) Ben Yehonatan received the trophy.

When we returned to Israel, Minister Abba Ibn greeted us on behalf of the government. "On the disappearance of the trophy, Kiko said:" I am shocked, it is disappointing to hear that this great trophy has disappeared or was allegedly stolen from the club.

It hurts me, I have to return the trophy to the Khodorov complex, period. "

Shia Feigenbaum also took part in that game in Bangkok: "I do not believe, how can such a thing be? It is the duty of Hapoel Tel Aviv and the law enforcement authorities to check how the trophy disappeared - by an activist, player or source from Brenner.

As long as the trophy is not in practice it is a legacy injury.

I want to see him in the Khodorov compound. "
