Hapoel Holon Championship Celebrations (Danny Maron)
Guy Pnini is approaching Maccabi Tel Aviv, but until the comeback becomes official - one fact has already been determined: After five years, which began with winning the state cup and ending with the lifting of the championship plate as captain, he leaves Hapoel Holon.
Pnini, who will celebrate his 39th birthday in two and a half months, has appeared for eight seasons at Maccabi and is expected to return to it to end his career at the club where he grew up.
This season will not be defined in advance as a "retirement season", but it is not inconceivable that after that he will hang up his shoes and possibly also join the training team at Yad Eliyahu.
The Yellows from Tel Aviv decided to say goodbye to the forward as part of the summer 2017 revolution, at the end of which all the staff were replaced except for one player.
He moved to Holon, and played in its ranks under six different coaches - from Dan Shamir to Guy Goodes.

Last season he averaged 5.7 points and 2.9 assists in the Premier League, and even started in the top five in the Champions League semi-finals, but as the weeks and months went by, so did Guy Goodes' rotation status retreat.
Although the sponsor Shlomo Isaac announced last week during the celebrations of winning the championship that "Pnini will end his career with us", the professional team was hesitant about his status next season, when at the same time the player received an offer from Maccabi Tel Aviv.
At this point, only two players are signed in the ranks of the champion: Chris Johnson who will remain for a third season, and CJ Harris who returns after a year at the French Burke.
Rafi Manko's contract has an option to leave for both sides, and he even met earlier this week with the club's heads, but at the same time he is a candidate to follow Pnini's path and move to Maccabi Tel Aviv, in light of the failure of contacts with Tomer Ginat.
