Midfield strategist Bernhard Hobmaier is returning to district classists FC Moosburg after nine years.

The team has a lot planned for the new season.

– Reinforcement for the soccer players of FC Moosburg: The fifth in the district class for the 2021/22 season has brought a lot of routine into the squad with the returnee Bernhard Hobmaier.

The now 38-year-old midfield strategist was most recently active for SC Buch am Erlbach in the Donau-Laaber district league.

Bernhard Hobmaier's Moosburg past dates back more than ten years.

The left foot made his first appearances in the Dreirosenstadt for Real Bonau Moosburg in the mid-2000s.

He then played for Buch am Erlbach before he played in the district league 2 for the FCM from 2011 to 2013 and was able to celebrate promotion to the district league north.

Even then, his coach was called Mario Sinicki - and one of his teammates was Philipp Reiter, who is now the sports director at FC Moosburg.

Good passes, good assists

In the district league, Hobmaier was no longer used in Moosburg in the 2013/14 season.

He moved to league rivals FC Eitting, where he stayed until 2017, before moving back to Buch am Erlbach.

From the point of view of FCM sports director Philipp Reiter, “Bernhard should bring his routine to the young squad and show his experience on the pitch.

I've played with him myself - he's a first-class footballer who is good at passing and providing good assists." Despite his age, Hobmaier is physically fit and a candidate for the starting eleven.

In addition to the veteran, three A youth players will also join the squad at the start of training on June 30, reports the sports director.

The preparation should then show whether at least one can be recommended for assignments in the district class for men.

With Harun Agzikara, who would like to return to FCM from SGT Istanbul Moosburg, the squad is to be expanded further by then, "so that we are going into the new season very optimistically because there have been no departures so far and the squad from last season will remain together “, explains Philip Reiter.

Looking for a playing assistant coach

Coach Sinicki's credo in the last round was that his team influences how strong the opponent is.

This will also continue in the new season.

"If we're as strong as we can be, then we'll be among the top three and want to have a say in promotion," says the sports director, who no longer sees any acute need for action in terms of personnel.

"What we would have liked to have had was a playing assistant coach.

We've been looking for someone like that for a long time, but so far it hasn't worked out," says Reiter.

“Although there were already candidates where it would have fit.

Unfortunately, no agreement could be reached there.”
