Flattering to his star.
Boston Celtics general manager Brad Stevens has revealed what he told Jason Taitum after the NBA Finals series against Golden State, at the end of which the Warriors remember swinging the championship ring.
"I just told him to go on vacation," Stevens said with a smile during a video call with reporters, after Boston's season ended, "Go get some rest."
The general manager added: "This guy gave us everything he had. When you look at his minutes of play, you realize that he just wants to play all the time."

The 24-year-old star's playoff has known ups and downs compared to the regular season.
He finished it with the most losses a player has had in a single playoff in NBA history, and in the finals scored 50% from the field once, and below 40% four times.
In Game 2 against the Warriors he scored only 31.6% for 2.
However, Stevens said it should be remembered how good Taitum and Jaylen Brown were before and that the team would not have gotten to where it was without them: "What Jason and Jaylen did in the playoffs, historically, and especially in terms of their age, is great. "That Jason did not experience his best series, there is no chance we would have been there without him and without his great acting all the way through."
