Maccabi Tel Aviv is close to joining guard-forward Darren Hilliard, a player from Bayern Munich last season.
The Yellows handed the player a draft contract today (Tuesday), and it is estimated that he will sign with the club and be the second foreigner to join after Alex Poiters signed earlier today.
Hilliard (29, 1.96) is a graduate of Vilnius University, when in his final year in college he was selected to the top five this season in the Big East.
He was surprisingly selected 38th in the draft by Detroit and played for the Pistons for two years, while at the same time being sent to the Development League team where he partnered in 77 games in two years, despite suffering minor injuries.
In the summer of 2017 he went through two trades before being released and had a chance in San Antonio where in the media he recorded 14 games.
