The young Israeli team was drawn today (Tuesday) to play against the Irish team in the Euro 2023 playoffs. The Irish will host the first game and the rematch will take place a few days later in Israel.
The games will take place between September 19-27.
On paper, this is one of the most convenient lotteries that Guy Luzon's players could have received, having avoided teams like Croatia and Denmark in the draw.
The tournament will be hosted together by Romania and Georgia next year, from June 9 to July 2.
Apart from the two hosts, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal, England, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Norway and Switzerland will also participate in the tournament.
As you may recall, Israel participated for the first time in the Youth Euro in 2007 in a tournament held in the Netherlands, and for the second time in a home tournament in 2013.
Other playoff games:
Croatia - Denmark
Slovakia - Ukraine
Iceland - Czech Republic
