Silver medalist in the 200m butterfly and qualified for the final of the 200m medley on the same day, Léon Marchand lived the sequence of races very well.

How did you experience this day?
Léon Marchand:
“It was a great challenge, I think I did well and I'm happy to be in the final and to win another medal.
I mainly played for the medal, the time, I didn't watch too much but it's true that I did 1 min 53, it's still pretty crazy.
(...) I was very excited for this evening because I know that I can chain two races at a high level.
There, it actually went really well.
We already had our plan in mind so it was easier for me to relax between each race.
What was complicated was to stay focused on the podium, especially since the whole pool was screaming (for the Hungarian Milak's victory, editor's note) so it was quite nice.

Were you able to take advantage of the podium anyway?
“Honestly, it was great.
Already when we entered the pool, I said to myself '' wow I feel like I'm playing football '', so it was really cool.
I really benefited.
And I had the other side of myself telling me I have to qualify for the 200m medley final. I did both, now I have to sleep and we'll see tomorrow.
And to think that you chose to compete in the 200m butterfly only a month and a half ago...
“Since I started swimming, I love the 200 butterfly.
This year I focused more on the 200 breaststroke but it didn't fit well with the competition schedule.
I've been working on it a lot for 3-4 weeks and I feel really good as a pap, I think I still have a little room for improvement for the future.
