The largest international conference in the history of the Israeli Basketball Association and basketball in general was held today (Wednesday) at a hotel in Moshav Regba.

The conference, which is being held in collaboration with FIBA ​​and will end this afternoon, will be attended by more than 200 coaches who will come from many countries, including coaches from Morocco, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Germany and other countries.

On the first day of the conference, German national team coach Gordon Herbert, Michael Schwartz, head of FIBA ​​Young Player Development, Prof. Marko Stoynewicz, Serbian national team physical education coach, Daniel Sesher, professional director of Hapoel Jerusalem's youth department and others spoke.

Last night in the morning all the participants went to one of the nearby basketball halls and watched the practical training of Herbert, the veteran and esteemed Italian coach Emanuel "La Moulin" and other experts from Europe.

Shibek, who in recent days has agreed to extend his work for the Dutch union for a third season and also works for the FIBA ​​training division, told Israel Today: "It is important that this international training takes place in Israel.

It is good that they brought in the experts from abroad in basketball, physical fitness, development of young players. We can be very proud of what is happening in Israeli basketball. In Europe we respect what we do. In recent years 6-7 high level youth clubs have developed with good coaches and quality staff "These are things that did not happen until 10-15 years ago, and we are seeing the results."

Shibek also spoke about his work in the Netherlands: "This year our academy won a prestigious tournament in Budapest, which was a surprise to everyone, including me. We made very good progress. The under-15 team won the tournament in Denmark and we see progress in ability and professional level."

On the third and final day of the conference, the reserve team coach Oren Aharoni, the former Austrian Martin Schiller, the coach of Zelgris Kaunas and Neta Cromer, from Israel's girls' academies will speak.
