After Delonte West's sad record of a street talk group last week, a former basketball player who played eight years in the NBA yesterday (Tuesday) referred to his condition when a reporter from TMZ met him outside a diner in the United States and asked him what happened and why he went bankrupt again.

"That's the situation right now," West said.

"I have kids and I'm between jobs. People help me as much as they can, but you know what it's like. As a man I have to do what's right for my kids."

Last March, there were reports of attempts to bring West back into the basketball world and share it in the 3-on-3 league, but to no avail.

The 38-year-old former player also commented on it: "It was a great opportunity and I was very excited for the tests. I will be there again next year."

West insists he is still part of the basketball world and that he intends to join an NBA coaching staff in the future: "I'm always involved in a game I love. Last year I worked as a scout for the Mavericks and three years before that I worked for the Celtics."

West's ambition did not stop here: "Honestly I was hoping to move on as head coach or assistant in the NBA this season, but it's a business that has a lot of people involved. I pray I'll get up in talks for next season."

Following the publication of West's video and photos last week, there was also scathing criticism on the network, especially for the man who spotted West on the street, approached him with an open camera and documented him, and rushed to upload the documentation.

The 38-year-old West has played eight seasons in the NBA, four of them in the Boston Celtics, three alongside LeBron James in Cleveland and a brief stint in Dallas.

In 432 career games, he averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists per game.
