The arrival of the Nice coach in Paris is now mainly conditioned by the departure of Mauricio Pochettino according to information from L'Équipe this Wednesday.

Christophe Galtier one step away from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to information from

L'Équipe

and several other sources, the 55-year-old Nice coach and the capital club have agreed on a two-year contract, plus an optional year.

If they do not reveal the financial details of this deal, our colleagues specify that the Marseillais will receive a lower salary than that of Mauricio Pochettino at the reigning French champion.

Which Pochettino is under contract until 2023 in the capital.

He and his staff have yet to reach an agreement on their severance pay.

Tuesday, for

Le Parisien

, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi evoked in these terms the Galtier file: “

We have a shortlist of coaches.

We are discussing with Nice, it is not a secret.

I hope that we will find an agreement quickly

”.

A priori, the agreement between clubs to release Galtier, linked to the Gym until 2024, has already been found (€10 million?).

The Parisian president also took the opportunity to debunk the Zidane rumour, claiming never to have spoken to the former Blues playmaker.

We chose another option.

We chose a coach who will be the best for what we want to put in place

,” he said.

A trainer who will be called Christophe Galtier, no more doubt.

From eternal deputy to number 1

Galtier multiplied the assistant experiences at the end of his playing career (OM, Salonika, Bastia, Portsmouth, Sochaux, Lyon, Saint-Etienne) before taking the reins of ASSE (2009-2017).

He then led Lille (2017-2021), with the title of champion of France at stake in 2021, before flying to Nice last summer.

On the Côte d'Azur, it is Lucien Favre who is expected to succeed him.
