That was strong: Track and field athlete Julia Rath and her younger brother Maximilian recently drew attention to themselves with personal bests.
Regensburg/Munich – Julia Rath and her younger brother Maximilian recently drew attention to themselves with personal bests.
At the Sparkasse gala in Regensburg, which was attended by numerous top athletes, Julia Rath (17) set a house record on the 1500 meter track.
The Penzberger, who is starting for LAC Quelle Fürth, crossed the finish line after 4:30.19 minutes.
She undercut her previous record by two hundredths of a second.
The performance was "impressive", according to the LAC on its homepage.
Out of a total of 36 participants, only two athletes from the Czech Republic were better than Rath, Iveta Raskova (4:22.66) and Bara Styblova (4:28.68).
The 23-year-old Raskova also ran a personal best in Regensburg.

Just five days after the Sparkasse gala, Julia Rath set her record.
At the "Athletics Evening" in Munich's Dante Stadium, she also ran the almost four and a half stadium laps in 4:30.19 minutes.
Unlike in Regensburg, she had to run the distance as the leader because the competition was not that strong.
In the end, Rath won with a lead of almost eight seconds over Natalie Frank (LAV Stadtwerke Tübingen).
The other participants needed more than five minutes for the route.

He finished fourth in the U18 competition.
With a time of 2:18.30 minutes, Rath improved his previous personal best by around three seconds.
In the same race in Munich, Joris Ressing (born 20056) from TSV Penzberg also started - he took second place with 2:14.11 minutes.
