In its June 22 edition, the daily "L'Équipe" reported on the heavy atmosphere that weighs on the offices of France 2023, the organizing committee for the 2023 World Cup in France.
The atmosphere is execrable according to the daily newspaper which reports a very deep social malaise.
The edifying description of the working conditions of the employees of the committee responsible for steering next year's big event in France did not escape Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.
The new Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games issued a press release on Wednesday evening.
"The Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games has taken note of the worrying elements reported today by the newspaper l'Équipe relating to the social climate, labor relations and the management of the teams of the Public Interest Group (GIP) France 2023, in charge of organizing the Rugby World Cup.
To shed full light on this situation, the Minister has decided to simultaneously launch two investigative steps.

These steps are composed as follows: “1. The labor inspectorate will seize the file without delay” to understand and possibly punish the actions in the offices of the organizing committee.
2. “The Minister referred the matter to the ethics committee of the GIP (Public Interest Group) which is notably responsible, under the terms of the internal regulations, for ensuring compliance with the values which must underpin a working group.
The Minister would like the conclusions of these investigations to be sent to her as soon as possible.

In the same press release, the Minister also indicates that: “The social partners will be brought together tomorrow (Thursday, June 23) by the general management of the GIP and fully involved in this investigation and analysis process.
The GIP teams are very professionally involved in the organization of the World Cup.
The Minister is aware of their daily involvement for the success of this large-scale event and assures them of the full support of the State so that they can continue their mission in the working conditions and the serenity that they deserve.
