Romain Bardet is known for rarely talking in the air.
The former AG2R rider, who has now moved to the Dutch from DSM, gave an interview a few weeks ago to the magazine “Pédale!
which appears once a year, just before the Tour de France.
In this interview, Bardet breaks a kind of taboo that also coats cycling: salaries.
The Auvergnat reveals his by explaining that he does not see how one can spend excessively.
And he launches into a comparison that will probably earn him vilification on social networks.

In the process, Bardet released the exact amount of his emoluments: “One and a half million euros taxed at 45%, therefore around 50,000 per month.
It's a lot of money, but I know how much I need to be happy.
I have a Porsche in my garage, a nice house worth a million euros.
No need for a second big car or a second house.
I've got all I need.

And Bardet will still keep his salary until 2024. During the last Giro, the native of Brioude announced his contract extension until 2024.
"I'm very happy, it was completely natural for me, it's going very well, I found a good level here

On the roads of the Tour de France, Bardet, who is coming out of a painful abandonment on the Giro (victim of gastroenteritis while he was in the race for the final victory), announced that he would more surely aim for the stage victories than the general classification.
