An Argentine court has ruled that eight doctors, charged with the death by negligence of the football legend, will be tried for their actions:

Diego Maradona's doctors may pay the fine very soon.

According to reports in the agencies, eight medical staff members who belonged to the small circle that has dealt with the Argentine football legend in recent years will be prosecuted for criminal neglect and death by negligence, according to an unprecedented ruling by the local court.

As you may recall, the football star died of a heart attack on November 25, 2020, three weeks after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot from his head.

After Maradona's death, a medical report was published which confirmed that the icon had died as a result of a heart disease he had but at the same time it could be concluded that negligence in the care and supervision of the patient, eventually led to Diego's death.

In a 236-page document published in the last day, the judge in charge of the case questioned "the actions of each of the defendants, which led and contributed to the realization of the harmful result (Diego's death)."

The verdict further stated that eight people, including doctors, nurses and a psychologist who had treated the Argentine star in the last months before his death, were charged with "murder after taking his life intentionally".

As mentioned, a medical committee appointed to investigate Maradona's death came to the conclusion as early as 2021 that the football star's medical staff acted "inappropriately, defectively and recklessly".
