An investigation for "
sexual assault
" has been opened by the Tarbes prosecution against Jean Gachassin, 80, former rugby player and former president of the French Tennis Federation, we learned Thursday from the public prosecutor.

Following a complaint from a young woman, collected on Saturday June 18, an investigation targeting (Jean Gachassin) was opened.

Kissing someone against their will, legally, this qualifies as sexual assault,
" said the magistrate.
Jean Gachassin, he adds, “

After collecting the complaint, the gendarmes of the Bagnères-de-Bigorre research brigade, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, began to hear witnesses to the facts, which occurred during a seminar of the Rugby League in 'Occitania.
Former player of Lourdes and the French rugby team, Jean Gachassin was then president of the French Tennis Federation from 2009 to 2017.
