PSG: Neymar sole decision maker for an extension in Paris until 2027

Love stories, even upset, can therefore be expected to last for many years.

The story does not yet say if Neymar and PSG will live happily and still have many rewards together.

But the adventures between the Brazilian star and the club of the capital could, however, continue to feed the chronicle beyond the time initially planned.

As our colleagues from L'Equipe revealed on Wednesday, the player could, from July 1 of this year, see his commitment with PSG extend for an additional season and be linked to Paris until June 2027. conditional is, for the time being, still appropriate since, like antibiotics, this extension is not automatic.

The three-season contract signed by the Brazilian in the spring of 2021 certainly allowed the club and the player to extend their collaboration from June 2022 to June 2025. But in the file there were also two options.

He, who has undertaken to accept a decreasing salary, was thus offered the possibility of extending the duration of his contract in two stages.

The first through an option exercised in July 2021 which extended the contract signed until 2026. A principle identical to that which will allow the Brazilian in a few days to extend, if he wishes, again its partnership with Paris until June 2027.

In this case, the player is, in fact, the only one who can decide, the club having no power over this option.

For this to be valid and automatically validated, it is, however, up to the star to lift it by signing an amendment during the period of a few weeks offered to him from July 1, 2022. If, as is likely , Neymar lifted this option, he would soon be linked for another 5 years with the tenfold champion of France.
