This coming Sunday, the 86th Israeli Athletics Championships will kick off at the renewed stadium in Givat Ram.
Efforts are being made to bring in good athletes, so that they will attract Israelis to achieve impressive results, and perhaps break national records as well.
But today (Thursday) it turns out that one of the Ethiopian runners - Damka Tespaya Adama, who was supposed to attract the Israelis in the run that will lock the championship on Monday, will not be able to enter the country because he was mistakenly registered in the documents as a woman.
The alley runners' club that is in contact with him, and with the help of the Israeli union, managed to correct the documents and get the approval of the Ministry of the Interior, but at the embassy in Addis Ababa, all attempts in recent days to arrange his coveted visa were in vain.
By tomorrow he will have to board a flight, otherwise he will not arrive in time for the championship.

, the club's director: "We try to get the visa for a few days, but there is no one to talk to. This is a quality runner, with a result of 13:30 minutes in the 5000 meters that can greatly help our runners achieve fast times in the Israeli championship. "Come in and do not give the papers because they say it is written that he is female, and not male, but we received approval from the Ministry of the Interior that it was fixed a long time ago. We hope that someone will help us."
In the 5,000 meter run (Monday, 20:50), the best Israeli runners will take part, including: Shmuel Abuhai, Jamal Abdelmagid, Darba Ayala, David Teichao and more.
The Israeli consulate in Addis Ababa and the Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia - Alli Adamsu, have not yet responded.
