The Israeli swimming team continues to succeed in the world championships held in Budapest, Hungary, after today (Thursday) both Tomer Frenkel and Gal Cohen Gromi reached the semifinals of the 100-meter butterfly.
Cohen Gromi, who has shown great ability in the last week, set a result of 51.96 seconds, which gave him the place in the next stage from 14th place, Tomer Frenkel, who holds the national record, took 16th and last place, after touching the wall with 52.12 seconds
Meanwhile, the Israeli swimming team was hosted yesterday in a meeting organized by the Israeli Ambassador to Hungary, Yaakov Hadas-Handelsman, together with the consul and the deputy ambassador.
The meeting took place in a Jewish restaurant near the team hotel, when among the guests was also one of the best Hungarian swimmers of all time, Daniel Giorta, two of the senior representatives of Hungarian football in Israel - Istvan Fischont and Gabor Merton - were also present at the same event.
