SC Olching has a new goalkeeper.

Michael Loroff comes from FC Deisenhofen.

The 21-year-old denounces the conditions in goalkeeper training.

Olching - Last summer, those responsible for coach Martin Buch initiated a change at SC Olching.

But especially this year, the team gets a whole new face.

After the big bloodletting, the club announced numerous newcomers.

One of them: Michael Loroff (21), who will keep goal for the south-west state league in the future.

The keeper was trained in the youth academies (NLZ) at TSV 1860 Munich and FC Augsburg.

Since 2018 he has played for the Bavarian league club FC Deisenhofen, where he played seven league games last season behind regular keeper Enrico Caruso.

The 21-year-old is also active as an individual and youth trainer.

In the interview he talks about his move to SC Olching, his experiences in the NLZs and problems in training goalkeepers.

After four years at FC Deisenhofen you are moving to SC Olching.

Why did you choose the SCO?

The time has come to play.

As a young goalscorer you have to get playing time to develop.

The SCO is a very family club, which was the decisive argument why I decided to switch.

I was immediately welcomed in the first training session.

In addition, the level and tension in training was very high, which was also important to me.

What role did coach Martin Buch play in this?

Martin is a vocal coach who has a clear idea of how he wants to play football.

I personally see myself quite similar to Martin in the way I coach my youth team.

I hope I can learn something from him.

Michael Loroff: Goals with SC Olching?

"I want to win every game"

SC Olching narrowly escaped relegation last season.

What goals do you have for this year?

A clear goal has not yet been defined.

After the upheaval, the law is difficult and I think many would be happy with a midfield place.

However, I always want to win every game.

You played for TSV 1860 Munich and FC Augsburg in your youth.

How do you rate your time in the professional youth academies?

That's a good question.

I enjoyed a good education in the NLZs.

There were ups and downs.

I think I've learned a lot, both on and off the pitch, and I would do every single step exactly the same way.

SC Olching: New keeper Loroff convinces - "The goalkeeper training is elementary for sporting success"

There is a lack of well-trained goalkeepers, not only in professional football, but also in amateur football.

Experts like Harry Huber, goalkeeping coach at TSV 1860, denounce the situation in German football clubs.

How have you experienced the topic in your career so far?

Harry Huber is 100 percent right.

Too many clubs don't have goalkeeper training.

A lot is being done for this in the NLZs, but hardly in the lower leagues.

Many clubs don't understand that goalkeeper training is fundamental to the team's sporting success.

Personally, I had great goalkeeping coaches.

It all started with my father, who regularly went out on the pitch with me from the U9s onwards.

Then came the training in the NLZs.

Every goalkeeping coach had their own way of training and I'm glad I had every single session.

I was able to learn a lot from all the coaches and try to pass that on to the boys and girls who train with me in individual training and also in the team.

What should clubs do better in the training of goalkeepers?

Don't look at the size.

Far too much attention is paid to this in German football.

Big, small, fat or thin doesn't count in my eyes.

For me it is important whether the goalkeeper is good or bad.

It is also important that goalkeepers have good technique, good footing, understand the game and, most importantly, that they become personalities with strong self-confidence.

Last season you played seven times in the Bavarian league, with SC Olching you're in the state league.

What ambitions do you have for your personal future?

My personal goal is to play as well as possible in every game and to help the team as much as possible.

Wait and see what comes of it.

But now I'm looking forward to the new season at SCO.
