The Paris 2024 Judo Olympics campaign officially kicked off today (Friday), with the Grand Slam Allen in the Mongolian capital's column giving the first points to the world rankings, all the way to the Olympics.
European champion Timna Nelson Levy, who competes in the weight category up to 57 kg, opened against Russia appearing under the World Judo Federation (IJF) Ksenia Glitskaya, last year's World Youth Champion, whom she won by a lock of 47 seconds in the gold score.
In the quarterfinals, the Israeli, a local and unranked rival she met, won the iPhone 46 seconds from the start, and in the semifinals she once again faced Mongolian, Ankarlin Lakagtogo, 18, 33 seconds to go, took a third penalty from Nelson Levy and sent her to compete for the bronze medal.
Geffen Primo (up to 52 kg), started directly in the second round, where she defeated the Russian Lilia Negrova, when in the semifinals another opponent from Russia was waiting for her - Alicia Kuznetsova, who scored 1:57 minutes from the start and sent the Israeli to battle for third place.
Weighing up to 48 kg, the first-ranked seed in the world was eliminated in the second round, after losing in Vasari to a Kazakh opponent.
