Women's national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has criticized the high bonus payments in men's football.
In an interview with the editorial network Germany, the 54-year-old said, "What is happening in men's football is simply oversized.
These are areas that the normal fan can no longer understand.«
At the same time, the national coach, who and her team will meet Switzerland in the last preparatory game for the European Championship in England on Friday (5 p.m. / ZDF), made a suggestion: "Less in men's football and maybe a little more for us."
If they are successful in England, every player in the DFB selection should get 60,000 euros – more than ever before.
Voss-Tecklenburg was satisfied with this.
"I think it's good that our association gives more to the players, even if more comes in," said the 54-year-old.
However, the discrepancy to the men who received 400,000 euros per capita for a European Championship victory last summer is extreme.
According to Voss-Tecklenburg, the German Football Association could consider aligning the premiums for men, women and the U21s "because these three teams are leading the way".
In the long term, Voss-Tecklenburg also sees the European and world association as having an obligation: “The task for Fifa and Uefa is that at some point there will be a bonus system where it is the same for everyone – we would like that.”
