VfR Haag has been an important facility for mass sport for 75 years

The club for lawn games (VfR) in Haag was 75 years old.
A reason to celebrate, as emphasized by numerous keynote speakers at the celebration on Sunday.

Nine sports are now united under one roof.
Mayor Anton Geier recalled the beginnings in his greeting.
On June 27, 1947, shortly after the end of the Second World War, the VfR was founded for the "sporting training" of the youth of Haag, Plörnbach and Marchenbach, read Geier from the annals of the association.
The "founding fathers" Fritz Graßl, Georg Fischer, Paul Lachner and Michael Kolmannsberger took over the presidency from the very beginning.
The club went through many ups and downs.
Flood events, due to the proximity of the sports grounds to the river Amper, repeatedly affected club sports.
Thanks to generous flood support from the Free State and support from the municipality, the new building of the sports center with outdoor facilities was inaugurated in 2019.
"We now have one of the most beautiful sports facilities in the district," emphasized Leitl.

Even shooting sports have found a place in the new clubhouse.
The chairman thanked the Graf-Lodron-Schützen for the "great" partnership and good cooperation.
A total of nine sports are united under one roof: football, tennis, gymnastics, asphalt shooting, table tennis, beach volleyball, darts, boule and archery.
Without the great commitment of the volunteers, who would have put in countless hours of their free time, the gradual expansion of the sports facilities would not have been possible, Leitl thanked.
Young people in particular have benefited from this.
Youth work is the "heart" of the association, emphasized the mayor.
The fact that children can grow up fit and healthy are achievements that make life in society worth living.
In a society shaped by digital media, which entails sitting for a long time, deficits in physical activity in children could be compensated for in sports clubs.
Chairman Helmut Leitl has acted as the "motor" for 20 years.
He gave the club the face it has today.
"You all deserve a huge round of applause," praised Geier.
Deputy District Administrator Robert Wäger was able to confirm this.
Sports clubs are important for children to find their place in society.
In the club you will find friends for life, recognition and social interaction.
"That's what makes a club," said BLSV chairman Florian Warmuth.
It works wonderfully at VfR Haag.
After the greetings in the tennis hall, the flag delegations of the invited clubs moved to the sports field, where the Zollinger pastor Father Ignatius celebrated a festival service outdoors.
The anniversary ended with lunch, coffee and cake.
