The World Swimming Championships, held in Budapest, Hungary, are already considered the best of the Israeli team with the most promotions to the semifinals, with today (Friday) Anastasia Gurbanko and Michael Leitrovsky also advancing to the next stage.
Gurbanko, the world champion in short pools, took part in the 50-meter breaststroke qualifiers when she touched the wall in a time of 30.82 seconds and she will take part tonight in the semi-finals, after finishing 13th overall and trying to reach her second final in the championship, after doing so in 200 Mixed meter.
Leitrovsky jumped to the 50-meter backstroke, achieving a great time of 25.08 seconds, just two hundredths of his man high, but that was enough for him to advance to the semifinals from 12th place overall.
17-year-old Daria Golovti, participated in the 50-meter freestyle, when she set 25.97 seconds, was ranked 24th and did not advance to the next stage.
