Franca Henseleit shines in the "Finals" in the elite field with a top ten place

That was strong: triathlete Franca Henseleit finished in the top ten at the "Finals" in Berlin, where the German champions in the sprint were determined.

Berlin / Steingaden - Franca Henseleit showed on the big stage that she is one of the best German triathletes in the sprint.

At the "Finals" in Berlin on Saturday morning, the Steingaden athlete finished in the top ten in the women's elite field.

The competition was also a Bundesliga race.

Henseleit was the best athlete of the "Cologne triathlon Team 01", for which she has competed for four years.

Franca Henseleit shines in DM as eighth overall

In the elite women's field, the U23 athlete shone in eighth place.

Henseleit completed the 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running in 58:52 minutes.

Laura Lindemann (Triathlon Potsdam) took first place in 57:03 minutes.

She also won the German title - it was her fifth overall.

The other podium places were taken by Annika Koch (Ejot Team TV Buschhütten/57:12) and Nina Eim (Triathlon Potsdam/57:33).

Last year's winner Lisa Tertsch TV Buschhütten) was fourth (57:39).

In swimming, Franca Henseleit was already at the forefront.

She came out of the water of the Wannsee at about the seventh position.

The 19-year-old, who started studying in the USA this year, made it to the leading group on the bike with a quick move. With ten other athletes, Henseleit kept the chasing group at bay, at times the lead was more than one and a half minutes.

The leading group went to run as one, but already on the first kilometer some athletes had to give up, including Henseleit.

Together with Bianca Bogen (triathlon.one Witten), the woman from Steingaden ran in eighth and ninth position.

At the front, the best made good speed, Henseleit was no longer able to catch up.

In the end she lost Bogen by a few seconds and crossed the finish line in a strong eighth place overall.

In the first Bundesliga race of the previous season in the Kraichgau, Franca Henseleit had already been the best in her team.

She finished sixth in the opening competition.

In the team ranking, she finished fourth.

Simon Henseleit, Franca's brother, will also start in the finals.

In the men's elite field he is challenged on Sunday (start at 10.20 a.m.).
