After Kenny Atkinson got it back and decided to stay as Golden State assistant coach, NBA team Charlotte Hornets announced tonight (Saturday) the return of coach Steve Clifford to the club, for the second time in his career.
The 60-year-old coach coached the Hornets from 2012-2018 and led the team to two playoff appearances.
The coach also holds the second-best amount of wins in the club's history.

According to an ESPN report, owner Michael Jordan also interviewed Mike D'Antoni for the role, but what decided the choice of Clifford was the latter's good relations with professional manager Mitch Kopchak as well.
It was also reported that the club's leaders are behind the coach and believe that he is able to improve the existing squad, especially on the defensive side, with the main goal being to reach the playoffs this season.
After Clifford left the Hornets in 2018, he coached the Orlando Magic for three seasons, until he was fired.
The following season he served as one of Steve Nash's assistants for the Brooklyn Nets, and now he's back on stage.
