Will it blow to the Yellows?
The race for Nick Claths' services continues to heat up, and tonight (Saturday) it was reported in Russia that Zenit St Petersburg are in talks with the center who is expected to be released from Barcelona soon.
As you may recall, Maccabi Tel Aviv is one of the teams interested in joining the Greek, but Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce are also in the picture.
As is known, Zenit will not play in the Euroleague next season in light of the expulsion of the Russian teams, but the team hopes that the ties between the club's seniors and Klatis will be enough to convince the 33-year-old player to give up participation in a European factory.
Coach Xavi Pascual, who remained in St. Petersburg after not joining Maccabi Tel Aviv, and athletic director Manos Papadopoulos, are well acquainted with Clathis from their time together at Panathinaikos.
Last season, the Euroleague king of assists at all times averaged 7.3 points, 6.4 assists, 4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in the factory, while at the same time averaging 6.3 points, 5.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds in the Spanish league.
