For the moment, the XV of France is playing rather well with the Covid-19.

While the virus had interfered in the tricolor group just before its flight last Wednesday for Japan where it must play two tests on July 2 and 9, it is under control, at least temporarily.

The French Federation announced this Saturday morning that the two players affected, the rears of Toulon and Racing 92 Aymeric Luc (24 years old, 0 selection) and Max Spring (21 years old, 0 selection), have tested negative and will join the 'crew.

What happens to Labit and Edwards?

"In agreement with the Japanese Federation, the two players are now joining the France group in Japan to prepare the series of two matches for the 2022 Summer Tour", wrote the FFR in a press release, without specifying what will become of the assistant coaches Laurent Labit and Shaun Edwards, who also tested positive before the start and were forced into isolation.

On site, the Blues have not established any particular protocols.

“We continue to spend time together, we said it was important for us to do so, and then the Covid is everywhere, we all know it, underlines Thomas Lavault, the second line of La Rochelle (22 years old, 0 selection).

Outdoors, on the other hand, the mask is compulsory.

" Antoine Hastoy, the opening half of the Pau Section (24 years old, 1 selection) supports: "We have been living with the Covid for two years so we are unfortunately used to it, it was already the case the last year in Australia.

We're doing our best to keep it from spreading.

While most of the executives of the XV of France have been left to rest after a long and intense season (Dupont, Ntamack, Fickou, Marchand, Baille, Woki…), the novices know that they have a card to play against the Cherry Blossoms who have just crushed Uruguay (43-7 this Saturday and 34-15 last week).

"We know that this is an opportunity to showcase ourselves and one year before the World Cup in France (September 8 - October 28, 2023), it's important," adds Thomas Lavault.
