Ashdod gave up the option they had to sign him for another season due to the high salary, Hapoel Beer Sheva was very interested and considered joining and there were many other teams that expressed desire also because he was a free agent, but two weeks ago he received an offer from Azerbaijan.

Vice-champion Nafti Baku, one of the two biggest clubs in the country along with Karbah, decided she was going for the tie and Jaber expressed great interest.

19 points was the gap at the end of the season between the champion Karabakh and the second Naftachi, so the club decided to make a facelift to get back and win the plate.

The owners and management brought in Romanian coach Orenzio Regkamp and began building a new squad.

Atta Jaber was the first to sign, Goodsway Donio from Maccabi Haifa immediately after him.

Two players from our Premier League are already there and Baku is already preparing for the Conference League qualifiers that will meet them in the second round of the factory with Aris Limassol.

Jaber, meanwhile, is pleased with everything.

Anyone who knows the connection that grew up in Maccabi Haifa and was marked as a player for the Israeli team, knows that he is a very intelligent guy.

He did not land in Baku just like that.

He did his homework, examined the country and the city from all aspects, and decided to fly to Azerbaijan in the assessment that he would have a good reputation, even if it was not Western Europe or a particularly senior league.

"Whoever wants me shows me that he wants me, and Baku showed me. Naftachi fought, took an interest and left me no corner. They made me think of them first."

Was it clear to you that you were leaving Israel this summer?

"After ten years in the Premier League and one season in the National League, I felt exhausted. I wanted a new challenge. I wanted something new. A different country, a different football world, a different country. I wanted to see football outside of Israel."

Why Naftchi Baku?

"First of all and most importantly, because this is a team that competes for all the titles. I read about the club and the city. It is a big club and a city that develops and becomes a destination for tourists and football players. The team also plays in Europe and it was even more influential. The gaps slowly narrowed and I decided to sign. "

"Whoever wants me shows me that he wants me, and Baku showed me. Naftachi fought, was interested and left me no corner. They made me think of them first. It's a good club that really wanted me and there was no point in waiting for another team."

"I am happy and not sorry about anything I have done so far in football. With the injuries and the less successful decisions. Everything I have done to date, has built my personality."

How do you sum up your last season in Ashdod?

"It was a very challenging season with a lot of ups and downs. I learned a lot about football and life this season. I learned a lot from Mar Ben Shimon. If I learned until I got to Ashdod a certain percentage about life and football, under Ran in Ashdod I deepened my knowledge several times. Of course, everything I have accumulated under Ren will help me a lot here in Baku. "

How do you see your football career so far?

"I am happy and not sorry about anything I have done so far in football. With the injuries and the less successful decisions I have made, I am happy with what I have achieved because everything I have done to date has built my personality. I have nothing to regret."

Which club is Naftchi Baku?

"A club of professionals. People who like to learn. People who are sick of challenges. Live football. Strive to go as far as possible and take care of the players and families. I found a club here at a very high level."

Will Naftachi just be a stop on the way?

"For me it is a start and the desire to stay as long as possible in a good club like Naftachi. It is clear to me that it is accompanied by hard work and professionalism. The first goal is to succeed in the team this season and what will be a great God in the future."

How were the reactions to the signing there?

"The reactions surprised me a lot because many people know the club and know about it even more than I knew before the offer. The conduct here reminds me of Maccabi Haifa, which in my eyes is considered a European club for everything.
