Bigger than life: Diana Weissman once again broke the Israeli record in the 100 meters | Israel today

The fastest woman in Israel set a result of 11.22 seconds in the Israeli championship, and improved by three hundredths the previous record, which was set only last week. Has almost certainly secured her participation in next month's World Championships in the USA


Tonight (Sunday), Diana Weissman opened the 86th Israeli Athletics Championships, held at the new stadium in Givat Ram, after breaking the Israeli record for the 100 meters in the semifinals.

The 23-year-old Weissman, who jumped to the third division, set a result of 11.22 seconds, thus improving by three hundredths the previous record, which she equaled just a week ago in the Union Cup in Tel Aviv.

Following the impressive result, Weissman almost certainly also secured her participation in next month's World Championships in Eugene in the United States

Two weeks ago, Weissman won the competition in Athens with a result of 11.18 seconds in the 100 meters, but due to an illegal wind, this result was not recorded as a new Israeli record.

At the beginning of the year, the 23-year-old Weissman broke the Israeli record for 60 meters, with 7.23 seconds, hoping to continue her great ability and reach the big events of the summer with the World Championships and the European Championships.
